The United Arab Emirates (UAE), led by former Korean national soccer team coach Paulo Bento, started its challenge for the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Qatar Asian Cup with a multi-goal victory. The UAE defeated Hong Kong 3-1 in the first match of Group C of the tournament held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar on the 14th (local time).
