New Street Style Trends For Winter 2023

This coming winter, 2023, is going to be all about oversized clothing pieces, comfortable for lounging and relaxing - great when watching TV, reading, or even playing at an Everygame classic.  Following trends can be fun but also has the ability to connect you with others, not only those people you are likely to associate with but others, from different cultures and countries around the world.

Below we outline the street style trends you can expect to find this winter of 2023.

Street style trends for 2023

Fleece lined and fur jackets and coats, oversized trousers and androgenous silhouettes are trending this winter.    Crossbody or messenger style handbags in bright colors are going to be all the rage as are practical and comfortable cargo pants and vests.

For those wanting to be more innovative and daring, leather and goth items are going to make a come-back with thigh high boots paired with mini skirts and shorts in denim and leather.  Colors like bright canary yellow worn with brown tan and olive chunky shoes and trainers will also be trending this winter.

And, don’t be too quick to put your jean shorts away for the winter…shorts can and will be worn with tights or nylons and thigh high boots.

The mini skirt, a trend from 2022, will also continue into the winter of 2023 even with the cold weather paired with tights and high boots.  So, you will still be able to attract attention with those denim shorts or cute little mini- skirts.

The maxi skirt has been showing up in most of the recent fashion shows and is trending again this winter.  You’ll be able to find a maxi skirt for the day in denim or cargo or for the evening in satin.

Androgenous clothing is going to play a big part this winter with oversized pants representing a gender fluid fashion statement.  You’ll see bright colored crossbody bags paired with large sized cargo pants and long jackets.  The brightly colored bags will add the dash of color to these otherwise cool, rather wintery looks.

The maxi skirt has been showing up in most of the recent fashion shows and is trending again this winter.  You’ll be able to find a maxi skirt for the day in denim or cargo or for the evening in satin.  Even the maxi skirt that reaches until the knee is trending this winter. Go for velvet, wool or corduroy to create that stylish look.

The bigger the jacket the better

Oversized jackets are in this winter.  This coming winter is all about being comfortable and a big oversized jacket is a statement piece.

At one time wearing something form-fitting underneath a huge jacket or coat was fashionable, now in 2023 gender neutral styles are more the go to look, with “boyfriend” jeans and oversized tops being the preferred choice.  Feel free to glam it up with colorful scarves and hats.

So cozy up in your enormous jacket and you're all set to go.

Athleisure

During the pandemic and those stuck at home days, we all got used to athleisure, so called athletic wear.  Sweat pants and track suits are still just as popular and are on trend this coming winter.

But the shirts will be cropped and the legs will be wider.  Paired with white trainers will complete the look.

The practical, no frills look

The utilitarian look is trending for winter 2023.   The casual look, pants with wide legs and large oversized pockets but dressed up with oxfords and button- down shirts.   We will also see the use of flannels and plaids.

Goth wear is trending for winter 2023

Goth wear is for those people who like to make a statement and it will be on-trend this winter.  Black, black and even more black is the way to go if this is your style.  Black jacket, black heavy looking boots, black tights and black eyeliner completing the look.  Perfect for cold wintery days.

Oversized vests are also going to be trending

These cozy puffy oversized vests are part of the same oversized jacket and coat trend and you’ll find them in wonderful seasonal colors, including green.   You can also include your crossbody bag to complete your look before you step outside into the cold.
