Nick Saban wasn't always destined to coach football. After college, he almost went into car sales but his coach convinced him to be an assistant coach in 1973. He bounced around different teams for years including the NFL's Houston Oilers.In 1989 he got his first head coaching job at the University of Toledo. They had a great season He then went back to the NFL for a bit before becoming head coach at Michigan State. There, he led them to some big wins from 2000 to 2004 Saban coached LSU and won a national championship He even wrote some coaching books during this time. In 2005 he tried the NFL again with the Miami Dolphins but it was not a good fit. Finally in 2007 he landed the head coach job at Alabama where he became a college football legend.
