Game of Thrones Breakthrough: When Sophie Turner was cast as Sansa Stark in the classic HBO series Game of Thrones in August 2009, her career took off. This was her first appearance on television at the age of barely 13. A breakthrough came with her portrayal of Sansa, and she started on the path to fame. Turner's theatre teacher was a major motivator for her to go for the job. She bravely colored her blonde hair reddish for the part, and she continued to wear wigs during Season 7 as well.
